We are committed to protect and restore our natural environment by keeping waterways clean, engaging volunteers, and safeguarding local wildlife.
Rivers Edge Conservation & Wildlife Rescue works to protect and restore the natural ecosystems of Western North Carolina by cleaning local waterways, coordinating community volunteer efforts, restoring native habitats through tree and plant initiatives—including urgent efforts to reseed and protect the region’s threatened Eastern Hemlock—while also rescuing injured or stranded wildlife and domestic animals in partnership with local rehabilitators, and providing educational experiences through guided day hikes and Leave No Trace camping trips that promote conservation, river stewardship, and awareness of the impact of hemlock decline.
